Hoover SteamJet Express Steam Mop - The Full Review
The Hoover SteamJet Express Steam Mop is the younger cousin of the SteamJet Dual Head Mop. It is a smaller, lighter alternative to the heavy-duty steam mop version Hoover has created. This means it is made for light-duty clean up around the house and can cover every aspect of your floor-cleaning needs with ease. It features a detachable handle for easy storage and a 600 mL water tank which allows for about 15 minutes of usage time before a refill is required.
We were rather impressed with the boiler as well, it didn’t take long at all to heat up the 600 mL. We found this mop to be very similar to the SteamJet Dual Head version, except a bit smaller, a bit lighter and with a smaller serviceable area of 6 meters compared to 8 meters. That being said, it is excellent for use on tiled and hardwood floors and will take care of all the basic day-to-day cleanup you might need. The biggest disadvantage this steam mop has is that it is unable to be used on carpets. We also found that it tends to leave the floor quite wet after use when compared to other models, but this shouldn’t be a big issue as long you make sure to account for that before cleaning.
So before buying this steamer you probably want to consider what the main surface in your house is, if it is tile and wood then this is probably a good choice of steamer for you but if you were planning to use it on carpets or upholstery we would recommend you have a look at our other reviews as it cannot be used on carpet and even if you tried it would probably leave the material very wet and saturated.
All in all this is a great little cleaner especially for the price. The fact that it is lightweight makes it easy to manoeuvre around the house when cleaning. While it is unfortunate it can’t be used on carpet more and more houses seem to be moving away from carpet, so if you don’t have much carpet or are happy with the way you currently clean your carpet and just want to use this on wood and tile this might be a good unit for you.
The detachable handle is a neat feature for those who don’t have a cupboard to store it in, as without the handle you can easy fit it in most drawers. It works fantastically as a steamer for everyday cleaning, if you are wanting to use it for really grime covered areas you might want to consider another model as it can struggle with tougher marks (I would recommend one that can be used as a handheld so you can give it a good scrub if you want to deal with really mucky surfaces).

What We Love:
- Very light for easy use
- Has enough water capacity to cover most floors in your house
- Heats up quickly
What Could Be Improved:
- Like most steam mops, lacks the power to take apart really tough grime
- Not able to be used on carpets
That does it for our list of the best Hoover steam cleaners. This list is not exhaustive by any means, but it does feature a lot of products that will make your cleaning regimen much easier to handle regardless of the surfaces in your home that need cleaning.
